Executive Committee meets the 4th Monday
of each month at the Crossville Housing Authority's Meeting Room on Irwin Ave.
at 6:30 p.m. These are open meetings and all Democrats are welcome to
attend.
January 12
Presidential Candidate Forum - Democracy for Cumberland County -
No, unfortunately, we won't see the actual candidates, but DFCC has organized
folks to speak about each of the candidates and their positions. They're
meeting at the Library Annex at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
January 15 Mayland
Candidates Forum for Property Assessor candidates.
5:00 p.m. - Mayland Senior Center
If you live in that part of
the county (or not), get to meet all the candidates for Property Assessor.
We've got a bunch running and the Primary on Feb 5th will decide who our
Democratic nominee is.

19 Training on how to become a Delegate to the Democratic National
Convention - Nashville, Legislative Plaza, 10:30 - noon.
You do not have to attend
this training to become a delegate, but it might help you understand the
process. If you are interested in becoming a delegate, there is a form to
submit that is available at www.tndp.org that
must be filed by noon on January 29.

Women's Meeting and Candidate Forum
5:15 regular meeting. 5:30 Democratic Candidates for the
Assessors position
February 5 - Voting Day - Presidential Primary, Assessor primary, and Wheel tax
There will be events on
this day in some of the county districts. Stay tuned
February 9th - County Democratic Convention - 12 noon. Place will be
announced.
This is the first step in the
process. At this meeting, delegates are elected to the Congressional
District Conventions, where the actual delegates are selected. Another
opportunity to participate in grassroots democracy.

was a great event. Lots of fellowship with other Democrats. Great
speeches by Governor Bredesen, Governor Bill Richardson (NM), a candidate for
President, US Representatives Lincoln Davis and Jim Cooper.
